Terms of Use
The straightforward details about using BlinkScan, your documents, and BlinkScan Pro.
Last updated 27 August 2026
1. Using BlinkScan
BlinkScan is an iPhone app for scanning and organising documents, recognising English text and exporting PDFs or JPEG pages. It is provided by Harry Christopher Zachariou. These terms describe use of the app and website.
The app’s licence is governed by Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement, unless a separate licence is specified in the App Store. Apple’s applicable App Store terms also apply. Nothing here limits your mandatory consumer rights.
2. Your documents and responsibilities
You retain ownership of your documents and their contents. You are responsible for having permission to scan, import, store and share the material you use with BlinkScan. Do not use the app unlawfully, infringe another person’s rights or attempt to interfere with the app’s security or purchase controls.
Keep a separate copy of important originals and exported files. The app stores documents locally; we cannot retrieve them from a server. Deleted documents are recoverable through Recently Deleted for 30 days unless you permanently delete them sooner.
3. Text recognition and output
Text recognition can make mistakes or fail to recognise some content. Searchable PDFs depend on successful recognition. Check scans, page order and recognised text before relying on them, particularly for financial, medical, legal or other important purposes. BlinkScan does not certify the accuracy, authenticity or legal validity of a document.
4. Free export and BlinkScan Pro
One successful export is included without a Pro subscription. This is a shared allowance across PDF and JPEG formats. The allowance is used when the iPhone share sheet is successfully presented; cancelling from the share sheet does not restore it. Further exports and Copy All Text require an active BlinkScan Pro subscription.
BlinkScan Pro is a weekly auto-renewable subscription. The App Store purchase screen shows the applicable local price, billing period and any introductory offer you are eligible for before you confirm a purchase. Do not assume that a free trial or introductory price is available unless it appears in that offer.
5. Payment, renewal and cancellation
Payment is charged through your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, subject to any offer shown. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal in accordance with the terms displayed by Apple.
Manage or cancel through BlinkScan Settings → Manage Subscription, or iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting BlinkScan does not cancel a subscription. If you change devices or reinstall the app, use Settings → Restore Purchases while signed in to the Apple Account that made the purchase.
Refund requests are handled by Apple, subject to eligibility and applicable law. See Apple’s subscription cancellation guidance or request a refund from Apple.
6. Privacy and third-party services
Our Privacy Policy explains how document content, subscription data, support messages and website requests are handled. Apple provides App Store purchase services and Superwall supports paywalls and subscription access. When you share a document to another service, that service’s terms and privacy policy apply.
7. Availability and responsibility
We aim to keep BlinkScan useful and reliable, but cannot promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every future device or operating-system version, or error-free text recognition. Features may be updated over time. Purchases, restoration and some sharing destinations need an internet connection.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, responsibility for the app is subject to the applicable licence and these terms. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, or removes statutory rights and remedies for digital content and services.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the app changes. The date above identifies the latest version, and we will provide any notice or consent process required by law. Updated terms do not remove rights that have already accrued.
For questions about these terms or help with the app, visit BlinkScan Support.
