YOUR PRIVACY
Privacy Policy
Your documents belong to you. Here’s what stays on your device, what information supports the app, and the choices you have.

1. Who this policy covers
This policy covers the BlinkScan iPhone app and this website. BlinkScan is operated by Harry Christopher Zachariou (“we”, “us”). For privacy questions, email hczdev1@gmail.com.
2. Your documents and recognised text
Scanned pages, imported images, generated PDFs and recognised text are processed and stored locally in the app. English text recognition runs on your iPhone. BlinkScan does not send document content to its own servers or to a cloud text-recognition service, and you do not need a BlinkScan account.
If you export or share a document, iOS sends it to the app, person or storage provider you select. Their privacy terms apply to that copy. App data may also be included in iCloud or computer backups according to your device settings; BlinkScan does not control those backups.
3. Camera and photo access
Camera access is used to capture pages. The system photo picker lets you choose images to import; the app receives the images you select. You can manage permissions in iPhone Settings. Without camera access, you can still import images.
4. Purchases and Superwall
Apple processes App Store payments and manages your subscription. We do not receive your payment card details. BlinkScan uses Superwall to show subscription offers, recognise access to Pro features and restore purchases.
Superwall processes purchase and subscription status, app-instance identifiers, device and app information, and paywall interaction events for these services and related analytics. Network requests also expose connection information such as an IP address. These records are separate from your scanned documents; the app does not provide document images or recognised text to Superwall.
See Apple’s Privacy Policy, Superwall’s Privacy Policy and Superwall’s SDK data-collection documentation for further information.
5. Support and website visits
If you email support, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond to your request. Please do not send sensitive document content unless it is necessary to resolve your issue.
This website does not include advertising trackers, analytics scripts, a contact form or non-essential cookies. Our hosting provider may process standard request information, including IP address, browser information, requested pages and timestamps, to serve and secure the website. Email and hosting providers process information needed to deliver their services.
6. Why information is processed
Where UK or EEA data protection law applies, information needed to deliver purchased features is processed to perform our contract with you. Support, service security and basic operational diagnostics are processed for our legitimate interests in running a reliable app and answering requests. Information may also be retained where necessary to meet a legal obligation. Where a use requires consent, that consent must be obtained before the use begins.
7. Storage, deletion and retention
You control your local documents. Deleted documents remain recoverable in Recently Deleted for 30 days before permanent removal; you can delete them permanently sooner. Copies you export or back up are managed separately by you and the destination provider.
Removing the app can remove its local documents and does not cancel your subscription. A local record of the used free-export allowance may remain after reinstallation. We cannot restore documents from a BlinkScan server because we do not keep a server copy.
Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to resolve the request, follow up on the issue or satisfy legal obligations. Purchase records and provider logs are retained according to applicable service requirements, provider arrangements and legal obligations.
8. Service providers and international processing
Apple, Superwall, and the providers delivering our website and email may process relevant information outside your country. Applicable protections depend on the provider and the processing involved. Before launch, the operator will confirm the provider arrangements, processing locations, transfer safeguards and retention settings applicable to this service.
We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to respond to a valid legal request. We do not sell your scanned documents or use their contents for advertising.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live and the applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information, restrict its use, or object to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. These rights can be subject to legal limits.
Use the Support page to contact us about information we hold. For scans that exist only on your iPhone, use the app’s export and deletion controls. You may also complain to your local data protection authority; in the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
10. Children and policy updates
BlinkScan is a general-purpose document tool, not a service directed at children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to support, please contact us. We may update this policy as the app or its services change, and will revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated where required.
